Joseph A. “Sonny” St. Sauveur, 82, of Woonsocket and North Port, FL, died Monday April
1, 2013 in Florida.
Born in North Kingstown, he was a son of the late Aram and Elvira (Diorio) St. Sauveur. He was raised in Manville and resided in Woonsocket for many years and was a winter resident of North Port, FL.
Mr. St. Sauveur was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1950 -1952.
He was employed as a supervisor at Acumeter Lab from 1963 to 1984 and then worked as a machinist at ACS Industries until retiring in 1993.
Sonny was a member of the Cercle Laurier and enjoyed playing golf. He also played hockey for the Mt. St. Charles Senior League.
He is survived by his beloved Lillian Thuot, three step-sons Bruce S. Thuot (Annette) of Harrisville, Alan G. Thuot of Woonsocket and Glenn S. Thuot (Chris) of Harrisville, a son Raymond St. Sauveur of RI and a daughter Linda Lambert of North Smithfield. He was the brother of John St. Sauveur (Edie) of North Smithfield and is survived by 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and one niece and several nephews.
His memorial service will be Friday at 10:30 am in the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. James Cemetery, Manville. Visiting hours are Friday morning prior to services from 9:00 – 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice House 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL. 34328.
