Brother of Ronald Barrett of Hadley, MA and Robert Barrett of Deltona, FL. Brother of the late Dorothy Bray. He also leaves 7 grandchildren and 6 step grandchildren.
Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Saturday at 9 am. Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Church at 10 am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting hours Friday 5-8 pm. Past Mass. State President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles; Secretary for 20 years of the Rockland Eagles 841; American Legion Hanover-Post 0149.
Obituary Information
Mr. Barrett died Tuesday at the Brockton Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Northampton, MA., son of the late John J. and Dorothy D. (Taylor) Barrett. He had been a resident of Northampton, and graduated from Smith Academy in 1950. During Korea and Vietnam he had served in the US Army, as a Chief Warrant Officer. He had been employed by Colonial Provision and Agar Supply Co. both of Boston for many years. Past Mass. State President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles; Secretary for 20 years of the Rockland Eagles 841and American Legion Hanover Post 0149. He was a resident of Brockton for the past 20 years and had been a communicant of St. Nicholas Church in W. Abington.
He is survived by his wife Mary K. (Sheehan) Barrett, two sons, J. Michael Barrett of Florence, MA and Kevin Steward of Vero Beach, FL and three daughters Barbara Carls and Julie Barrett both of Sebastian, FL, and Jeanine Barrett of Kingston, MA. He was the stepfather of Kathleen Humphrey and Marcia Spencer of Easton, Robert D’Amadio of Bridgewater and Christopher D’Amadio of Brockton, brother of Ronald Barrett of Hadley, MA and Robert Barrett of Deltona, FL. He also leaves 7 grandchildren and 6 step grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Dorothy Bray.
