Obituary

Elizabeth M. "Betty" (Flood) Charest, 86, of Franklin, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 after a period of declining health. She was the wife of Robert J. Charest who died in 1985.

Born in Medway on March 23, 1927, she was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Dolan) Flood.

Betty graduated from Medway High School, Class of 1945. She was at home with her children until they entered school and then she held various positions at Harvard Apparatus in Millis, W.A. Wilde in Holliston and Design Components in Franklin until her retirement in 1991 to help care for her grandsons.

She enjoyed spending time with her family on Cape Cod, Lake Winnipesaukee and Hampton Beach, NH and at her grandsons’ baseball, basketball and football games.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Tony Ciarcello of Holliston, her sons, Timothy of Franklin and Brian of Falmouth and her beloved grandsons, Corey, Brody and Tucker Ciarcello who brought much happiness to her.

She is also survived by many sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, thirty-three nieces and nephews, her dear cousin Joanne Curran of Norwood, her childhood friend Vera Cenedella of Medway and her close friend Mary Murphy of Milford.

She was predeceased by her brothers Joseph, John, Thomas and Carl Flood and her sisters Mary Flood and June Dauley.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass at St. Brendan Church, 382 Hartford Ave. in Bellingham on Saturday, April 20 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Medway.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5 - 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com).
