Obituary

Methuen — Raymond J. Desjardins, 88, of Methuen, passed away peacefully on Saturday April 13, 2013, at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, Mass., with his family by his side.

Born and educated in Lawrence, Mass., he was the son of Alphonse and Obline (Pare) Desjardin. During World War II Raymond served in the U.S. Navy and for 23 years he was a retired U.S. Army veteran and was honorably discharged.

Raymond was a longtime member of the Lawrence Elks BPOE#65, and was a longtime Mason with the Andover Lodge. He enjoyed spending time daily at the Lawrence Elks, spending time with his family and doing family research and researched genealogy for his family tree by traveling to Canada and New Hampshire.

The widower of Dorothy A. ( Valentine) Desjardins, Raymond is survived by his children, Charles and his wife, Deborah, Carol Fraize, Susan Cebula and her husband ,Gary, and Joyce Morin and her husband, Joseph. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Andrea, Eric, Douglas, Kimbalee, Karrie, Katherine and Gary and 14 great-grandchildren.

ARRANGEMENTS: In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Lawrence Elks BPOE#65, 652 Andover St., Lawrence, MA, 01843. At the request of the family, all services will be private with a burial to take place at a later date in the Spring Grove Cemetery in Andover, Mass.
