Paul J. Devlin, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Monday, April 15, 2013 at Spaulding Hospital in Cambridge following a lengthy illness. He was 64 years old.
Paul was born in Somerville on March 21, 1949, a son of the late Harold W. Devlin and Mary V. (Quinn) Devlin. He grew up in Charlestown where he attended St. Catherine's Parochial School and graduated from Boston Technical High School in 1969. He enlisted into the United States Navy on June 23, 1969 and served his country with honor and pride during the Vietnam Conflict. He was discharged on February 6, 1970 with the rank of Seaman Second Class. Paul worked as a custodian for the Archdiocese of Boston at St. Stephen's Church in the North End of Boston for over 10 years. He enjoyed reading and traveling to all parts of Europe.
Paul is the devoted brother of Harold W. Devlin Jr. of Canton, Diane Voye of Pembroke, Sheila Jackson of Charlestown, Jacqueline Fabiano of Charlestown, Daniel Devlin of Charlestown, Denis Devlin of Charlestown and the late Geraldine "Tootsie" Doris. He is the loving uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Paul's Funeral Services and burial will be private.
