Lillian Christine Bates
March 13, 1916- April 13, 2013

Lillian Christine Bates, 97, of Anderson, died April 13, 2013 at Bethany Pointe Health Campus in Anderson, peacefully during her sleep.

She was born on March 13, 1916 in Erlanger, Kentucky, and lived in Anderson the past 23 years.

Christine served alongside her husband of 64 years, Aubrey J. Bates in pastorates at Stonewall and Stanford, Kentucky, and Elmore and Germantown, Ohio. She was a devoted Christian and "prayer warrior". She enjoyed attending any sporting event at any time. Her favorite pastime and vacation was fishing. Her ideal vacation was spending two weeks on the lake catching anything that would bite her hook. She was always smiling and encouraging people whomever she met. She loved to send cards to people on every occasion. She was a member of East Side Church of God and attending the Lamplighters class. Her family and church were always her top priorities.

Survivors include Barrett (Roberta) Bates of Anderson, and Rev. Thomas (Carole) Bates of Palm Harbor, FL; six grandsons, Jeffrey (Beth) Bates, Ryan (Cami) Bates, Kevin (Jamie) Bates, Justin (Heather) Bates all of Anderson, Aaron (Elizabeth) Bates of Louisville, Kentucky; Travis (Christie) Bates of Palm Harbor, Florida; brother-in-law Noah Houck of Gallipolis, Ohio; thirteen great grandchildren: Kyle, Cameron, Conner, Holly, Katie, Ethan, Lauryn, Tyler, Jordyn of Anderson, Maggie, Jack of Louisville, Kentucky; Landon, Colton of Palm Harbor, FL; and several nieces and nephews including Sheila (William) who visited her and sent cards; Donna Gross and Gary Bates who kept in close touch; and many other friends including Elsie Cottingham and Helen Mifflin of Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert P. Crupper and Carrie Lois (Lynn) Crupper
her husband, brother, Robert P. (Peggy) Crupper and sisters, Geraldine Bates and Marcella Hauk and a great grandson Thomas.

Service will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday at East Side Church of God with Dr. Kerry Robinson officiating. Burial will follow Sat. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Erlanger, Kentucky.
Memorial contributions may be given to East Side Church of God Youth Group or to East Side Church of God Missions. Visitation will be Friday, April 19, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service in Anderson.
