
NATICK: Lynnette (Pruitt) Pyburn, age 58, a resident of Natick since 1996, and a longtime employee of the Boston Public Schools, passed away on Saturday morning, April 13, 2013, at the Miriam Boyd Parlin Hospice Residence in Wayland. She had waged a valiant fight against stage 4 cancer for six years.
Born in Boston on July 23, 1954, she was the eldest daughter of Earline V. (Evans) Pruitt of Boston and the late Edward N. Pruitt. Lynnette was raised off Gallivan Boulevard in Dorchester, and was a 1972 graduate of Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School. She continued her education at Middlebury College in Vermont where she earned a BA and then completed her Master of Science in Broadcasting at Boston University.
Lynnette taught at the University of Massachusetts, Boston, and the New England School of Law, prior to accepting a position with the Boston Public Schools in their IT area. She remained with Boston for 22 years, and was currently the Planning and Administration Manager of the Office of Information Technology. Lynnette most enjoyed time spent with her daughters and attending frequent gatherings of her large and loving family. She liked eating out, watching movies, and taking trips, whether day jaunts to a nearby location or vacations at a more distant spot.
In addition to Earline, she is survived by her two devoted daughters, Carolyn V. Pyburn of Framingham and Lynda A. Pyburn of Natick; six loving siblings, Betty J. Weeks of Methuen, Valerie Pruitt her husband Samuel Ellcock of Boston, James N. Pruitt of Salem, Denise Garrow-Pruitt and her spouse Rhonda of Shrewsbury, Kevin Pruitt and his wife Mona of Boston, and Jeffrey Pruitt of Boston; Paris Howard and his wife Pamela Nunes of Boston; and a host of family members and friends. She was also the sister of the late Robert E. Pruitt and Edward N. Pruitt.
