Eleanor DiVirgilio (Calonico) of Medford, died Sunday at the Wingate Nursing Home in Reading. She was 92.
Eleanor was raised in Somerville and Medford, the daughter of the late Nunzio and Ida (DeVencenzi) Calonico. A devoted wife mother and grandmother, Eleanor enjoyed the company of her family and friends. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed swimming.
The beloved wife of the late James DiVirgilio she was a loving mother to Elaine Marciano and her husband James of North Reading and James DiVirgilio and his wife Deborah Poore of Virginia. She was a loving and devoted “nana” to her grandson Christopher Marciano. The sister of the late Delma DeAngelis, she was a loving “Aunt Ellie” to Carolyn Perrotta and her family of Wakefield.
Family and friends may visit Friday April 19th from 4 - 8 at Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford and may attend a funeral service for Eleanor at the funeral home on Saturday morning at 11. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery.
