Obituary

NATICK: Charles H. Musgrave, age 86, of Liverpool, NY, and formerly of Natick, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2013, in Syracuse. He was the devoted husband of Marie A. “Toni” Musgrave for 64 years.

Born in Somerville, he was a son of the late George H. and Mary (Burns) Musgrave. Charles was raised and educated in Natick and served Navy during World War II. He was a Past Commander of the Natick AmVets Post 79, and after the war had obtained his private pilot’s license.

Charles and Toni married in 1948 and settled in Framingham where they made a loving home for their growing family. Employed throughout his career with Monroe Auto Parts, Charles, Toni and their family relocated to Liverpool in 1972. He retired in 1985 after 30 years with the company. Much of their retirement was spent in Spring Hills, FL. A man who lived by faith, Charles took pride in creating a vast number of rosaries to be shared through missionaries around the world. He will be remembered for his devotion to family, quick wit and sense of humor.

Predeceased by his grandson Michael Ronner, he is survived by Toni; their children Charles Musgrave and his wife Helga of Germany, James Musgrave and his wife Kathleen of Framingham, Paula Zinck and her husband Earl of Plymouth, Linda Musgrave and her husband Pieter Swanepoel of Hilton Head, SC, Elizabeth Nickels and her husband Steven of Liverpool, NY, and Mary Musgrave of Ashland; six grandchildren, Jennifer Musgrave of Germany, James Musgrave, Jr. of Boston, Jineane Hurley and her husband Shane of Framingham, Katherine Romagno and her husband Mario, and Steven and Kevin Nickels, all of Liverpool, NY; three great-grandchildren, Cole Musgrave, and Colleen and Kaitlyn Hurley; three sisters, Eleanor Devereaux of Yarmouth, Mary Farley and her husband Dick of Centerville, and Ruth Sousa and her husband John of The Villages, FL; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was also the brother of the late Robert and George Musgrave.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Apr. 19th in Saint Patrick’s Church, 44 East Central Street, Natick, at 11:30a.m. Burial will follow at Saint Patrick Cemetery. Visiting hours will be in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common, Natick, on Thursday, 4 – 7p.m. Donations may be made in Charles’ memory to St. Joseph’s Food Pantry, c/o St. Joseph the Worker Church, 1001 Tulip Street, Liverpool, NY 13088.
