BARRIE – Joseph Rollin, MD, of Harvard, MA died suddenly on April 8, 2013.
Born on August 22, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY, he attended Stuyvesant High School, received a Bachelors Degree in Science at Yale College, class of 1956, and graduated from Harvard Medical School in 1960. He completed his residency training at Massachusetts General Hospital and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and served his country as Lieutenant Commander, Medical Corps, in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Saratoga. He established his medical practice at Emerson Hospital in Concord, MA where he was an active staff surgeon from 1969-2004.
He is survived by his loving wife of thirty one years, Christine Svenson Pilkington. Devoted father to John R. Barrie and his wife Caroline E. Barrie of Wellesley, MA and Susan S. Barrie of Rye, NH. Loving grandfather of James R. Barrie and Catherine J. Barrie.
A memorial gathering for friends and family will be held from noon to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 28th at the home of John and Caroline Barrie at 15 Marvin Road, Wellesley, MA. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the USO or the Yale School of Medicine, Child Studies, Autism.
