Marjorie P. (Phillips) Snow, of Falmouth, formerly of Stoughton, and a retired former Treasurer for her families landmark Stoughton screw machine company, The F.C. Phillips Screw Machine Company ,passed away on Monday August 2, 2004 after a brief illness, at Morton Hospital, in Taunton. She was 86 years old. She was the wife of the late Robert Badger Snow.
Born May 8, 1918, in Stoughton, She was a lifelong resident of the town, until moving to Falmouth some eight years ago. She was the beloved daughter of the late Mr. Frederick C. Phillips and Mrs. Ethel A. (Pratt) Phillips.
Mrs. Snow and her late husband were married for 57 years prior to his passing in the year 2000.
Mrs. Snow attended Stoughton Public Schools and was a 1936 graduate of Stoughton High School.
After graduating high school, Mrs. Snow continued her education at various New England schools, which included Stoneleigh College in New Hampshire, Williams Business School in Brockton,MA, Thayer Academy in Braintree,MA and New England Baptist Hospital in Boston,MA, where she received her nursing certificate.
She was a lifelong member of the First Congregational Church of Stoughton.
She enjoyed sailing, skiing and swimming.
She is survived by her two sons:Brian Snow and his wife Monica of Scituate,MA and Craig Snow and his wife Charlotte, of Raynham,MA. Other survivors include her grandson Christian Snow of Raynham,MA and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her two sisters: Bea Wormelle and Evelyn P. Reid, both late of Falmouth,MA
Visiting hours are on Wednesday August 4, 2004 from 4-7 P.M. in the Sheehan Funeral Home, 115 Monk Street (Off Rt. 138 at the First Federal Savings Bank) , Stoughton. At the request of the family, funeral services and interment will be private.
