Paul R. Davis, 66, of New Bedford, died April 8, 2013 at St. Luke's Hospital after a courageous life-long battle with Muscular Dystrophy with his wife at his side.
He was the husband of Marie F. (Cipullo) Davis, with whom he shared 44 years of marriage.
Born in Somerville, the son of the late Richard L. and Frances S. (Schubert) Davis, he was raised in Brookline and lived in Quincy and Brockton before moving to New Bedford 7 years ago.
He was formerly employed in the food industry.
Mr. Davis was a graduate of Brookline High School, class of 1964 and attended Northeast Institute of Industrial Technology in Boston.
He served in the U.S. Navy Mobil Construction Battalion 3 during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Davis was a member of Massachusetts Fair Share in the mid 1970's.
Survivors include his wife; his beloved daughter, Jeanette F. Arciero of Woonsocket, RI; his 2 adored grandchildren, Maria G. Arciero and her fiancé Angel Sanchez and James A. Arciero; and his first great-granddaughter Alina, whom he was looking forward to see, will be born in May.
His Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, April 21st at 3 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. His family will receive guests from 2 - 3 PM prior to his service.
