Obituary

Roseanna Doherty, 82, of Laconia died August 1, 2004 in the Genesis Eldercare Network Laconia Center after a lengthy illness. She was born in Laconia on November 10, 1921, the daughter of William and Eva Marie (Gosselin) Maheux.

She was raised in Laconia and had resided in Meredith for almost 35 years. Prior to her retirement she was employed by the Vogue Doll Factory as an assembler. Her first husband, “Pete” Blunden died on February 4, 1980.

She was married to James M. Doherty in 1982 and for a time lived in Newmarket and Rochester before returning to the Lakes Region in June 2002.

Roseanna was a communicant of Sacred Heart parish and was an avid Bingo player.

Family members include her husband, James M. Doherty of Laconia; a daughter, Eva Hurst and her husband, Stephen Hurst of Alton Bay; a son Raymond Blunden and his wife Denise Blunden of Merrimack; a step-son, Richard E. Doherty of Palm Coast FL; six grandchildren and spouses, Jennifer and Steven Gorman, Robert and Karen Blunden, William and Rebecca Blunden, Jeremy Brier, Jason Brier and Jody Brier; seven great grandchildren, Makayla Gorman, Kyle Gorman, Christine Blunden, Nicole Blunden, Jacob Blunden, Wilson Blunden and Alyssa Brier; a sister, Alice Doucet of Laconia; a brother, Antonio Maheux of Laconia; nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by several brothers and sisters as well as a stepson and stepdaughter.

Calling hours were in the Simoneau & Lambert Funeral Home, 139 Church St. Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Ave Wednesday at 10 AM. Rev. Adrien Longchamps, pastor was the celebrant. Burial followed in Village Cemetery, Meredith. Timothy C. Molan and David L. Furber were the funeral directors.
