Dorothy Desrochers, age 86 years, passed away, peacefully, April 8th at her home in Dartmouth. She was the loving wife of Roger Desrochers of Dartmouth. Dorothy’s family also includes: her daughter Diana Reis and her husband George of New Bedford, grandchildren George Reis Jr. and Elizabeth Reis-Parish, 2 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, a sister Mary Duarte of New Bedford and a brother John Roderiques. She was the sister of the late Mary Constance Sylvia and Manuel Rodriques.
Mrs. Desrochers was born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Herminia (Ferreira) and Joao Rodriques. She worked at Homlyke Bakery. Mrs. Desrochers was also a dedicated member of Dartmouth Senior Association, Ladies Auxiliary VFW, and Fairhaven Post 2896.
Dorothy’s funeral will be Friday, April 12th at 8:45 A.M. from the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church in Dartmouth at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday evening in the funeral home from 5 – 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited
