METHUEN – Edward A. Condon, 79 of Methuen, MA passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday April 7, 2013 with his loving family by his side.
Born and educated in Lawrence, MA, he was the son of William and Delia (Murphy) Condon. For more than 40 years he owned and operated E.A. Condon Construction of Methuen and was the Highway Surveyor for the Town of Methuen from 1962 - 1973. Edward was a member of the Lawrence Order of Hibernians, the Lawrence Elks, for 50 years the Local # 4 Union of Boston and the Methuen Board of Trade. He enjoyed traveling, going to the beach, spending time with his family, especially the holiday’s in Aruba.
He leaves his wife of 40 years, Irene M. (Lavigne) Condon of Methuen, MA and his children, Michael E. Condon and his wife Lee Ann of Methuen and Salisbury, MA, Cathleen A. Bergeron and her husband Thomas of Methuen, Colleen B. Sebastian of Derry, NH, Kelly M. Armstrong and her husband Gayton “Chick” of Methuen, Cheryl L. Dube – Ouellette also of Methuen and Robert R. Dube and his wife Nancy of Tampa, FL.
One sister Mildred D. Marquis and her husband Emile of Methuen.
Grandchildren, Mary Singleton of FL, Edward Poirier of NY, Christopher Dube of FL, Curt “CJ” Ouellette of Methuen, Ronald Sebastian of Derry, NH, Timothy Armstrong of Methuen, Corey Armstrong of Salem, NH, Kala Bergeron of Methuen, Sean Sebastian of Derry, NH, Brent LaRosa of Fredrick, MD and Andy McFarland of FL. He will be especially missed by his nephew J. Ronald Condon and his great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Ed also leaves a very dear friend Geraldine VanCoppenolle of Methuen.
Edward was predeceased by his son Curt Michael Dube, two brothers, Bill and John and two sisters, Kay and Celia.

Visiting hours for family and friends will be held on Thursday from 4:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc., 233 Lawrence Street Methuen, MA 01844. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00a.m. in St. Monica’s Church in Methuen with burial to follow in the Elmwood Cemetery also in Methuen, MA.
