Alice K. (Weldon) Cyr, age 93, lifelong resident of Brockton, died Sunday April 7, 2013 in her home of 65 years surrounded by her family. Alice was the wife of the late Edgar C. Cyr and daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Dorgan) Weldon. She was a graduate of Brockton High School and had been employed for many years as a telephone operator, retiring in 1985 from AT&T. Alice was a lifelong member of St. Colman Church and a longtime member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She enjoyed bowling with the Telephone Company’s league, playing the organ and piano, and was an avid Red Sox fan. Her greatest happiness came from spending time with her family.
Alice is survived by her children Robert Cyr and his wife Karen of Maryville, TN, David Cyr and his wife Susan of Raynham and Jane Cyr Robinson and her husband Tom of Walpole; four grandchildren Mark, Kevin and Michael Cyr and Lori DiPrima; five great grandchildren Caiden, Colin, Allyson, Hannah and Abigail; and sisters in law Betty Weldon and Lois Cyr both of Brockton. She was a special aunt to many nieces and nephews. Alice was the sister of the late Lawrence, Joseph, Anna, Richard, Eddie, John, Robert and Madeline Weldon and Marie Langdon and cousin of the late Christine Dorgan. The family wishes to thank Alice’s special caregivers Karen and Doris.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Tuesday 4-8pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Wednesday at 9:30am for a funeral mass in Christ the King Parish at 10:30am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
