Mr. Curtis died Thursday at the Colonial Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Weymouth. He was born in Boston son of the late Robert E. Curtis, Sr. and Margaret G. (Smith) Curtis. He had lived most of his life in Dorchester. He was a graduate of Boston English High School Class of 1934. From Boston College he earned his BA in 1938, Masters degree in 1939 and Juris Doctorate in 1948.He retired as president of Patriot General Life Insurance Company in Concord after many years of service.
He was an avid sports fan especially Boston College sports. He had played hockey until the age of 60.He was the family historian and was a member of the Society of Mayflower DescendentsAnd the Quincy Historical Society.During WW II he served as 1st Lieutenant in the US Army.When living in Dorchester he was an active member of St. Marks Church.
In addition to his wife of 59 years he is survived by 3 daughters and 1 son.10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildrenTwo brothers and many nieces and nephewsHe was the brother of the late Kenneth, Dorothy and Lawrence Curtis and Ruth Flynn.
