Spencer – Jeannette L. (Weldon) Chenevert, 78, of Worcester died on Easter Sunday, March 31st surrounded by her family at the home of her daughter after an illness
Jeannette is survived by her two daughters, Betty A. McLain and her husband Perlie of Sterling and Ann M. Joppas and her husband William of Spencer; two brothers, Edward Weldon Jr. of Worcester and Alfred Weldon of Dudley; 4 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; many nephews and nieces and her friends at Building #52.
She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Edward and Irene (Duchesneau) Weldon and is predeceased by two sisters, Alice Welch and Cecile Weldon and a brother Paul Weldon.
Jeannette worked at the Wright Machine Company for over 20 years as a machine operator. She was active in the United American Veterans Auxiliary where she served as President, and also as the State President.
She was an avid bingo player and for many years, Jeannette volunteered at the Lincoln Village Bingo.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, April 4 from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester, with a Mass at 10 AM in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 7 Church Street Spencer. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are on Wednesday, April 3 from 5 to 8 PM in the funeral home.
