Obituary

Juanita D. Miller, 85, of Fitzgerald, died Monday, April 1, 2013, at Berrien Nursing Center in Nashville, Georgia.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Ronny Griner officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Wilcox County. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Mrs. Miller was born July 16, 1927 in Ben Hill County to the late Jesse Freeman and Carrie Elizabeth Norris Dobbins. She attended Fitzgerald High School and was a former seamstress for H.R. Kaminsky & Sons and Fitzgerald Underwear. She was an EMS dispatcher for Dorminy Medical Center and later for Ben Hill County EMS. She retired as a certified dispatcher for Ben Hill County 911. A caregiver until recent health problems prevented it, Mrs. Miller loved to cook for her family and enjoyed fishing. She was a member of Crossview Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Jean & John M. Ford of Nashville, Joan & Kenneth Ford of Americus, and Judy & Royce Hopkins of Lizella; six grandsons; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother: John Dobbins of Adel and one sister: Evelyn Dobbins of Fitzgerald. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Willie Seigler Miller; two sons: Willie S. Miller, Jr. and infant John Freeman Miller; one sister and three brothers.
