Sabina Merck, 93, of Londonderry, formerly of Long Island, NY, passed Sunday March 31, 2013 at Salem Haven Long Term Care and Rehabilitation Center in Salem, NH. She was born October 27, 1919 in Czechoslovakia, and was a daughter of the late John and Leopauldenia (Klas) Janus.
Mrs. Merck was a longtime resident of Long Island, NY prior to relocating to Londonderry three and a half years ago, to be close to family. She enjoyed gardening, and loved spending time with her family.
Members of the family include her four sons, Edwin John Merck, Thomas Merck, and his wife Margaret, John Merck, and his wife Susan, and Michael Merck, and his wife Joan, 10 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. Mrs. Merck was predeceased by her husband Edwin Merck 1993.
Prior to cremation, a Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 10:30am, at St. Marks Church, South Rd. Londonderry, NH. Calling Hours were held that afternoon, Wednesday from 4 to 7 pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry.
