Monica Lyn DeMello of Middleboro, formerly of Taunton, suddenly on March 30, 2013. She was 18 years old. She was born in Taunton and was the loving daughter of Ana P. Smith of Middleboro and sister of Kayla DeMello of Middleboro. She was the beloved granddaughter of Bernardino and Maria Amaral of Taunton. Cherished stepdaughter of Matthew Smith of Middleboro and stepsister of Amber Smith of Middleboro. Daughter of Roger DeMello of Florida and granddaughter of Phyllis Reynolds of Dighton. Monica is also survived by many extensive family members and friends.
Monica was a graduate of Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical High School Class of 2012 and was currently attending Gordon College in Wenham, MA majoring in Psychology. She was very active in her church and went on several mission trips including Guatemala in 2012 and Ireland in 2013. She enjoyed skiing, ice skating, watching sunsets and the ocean. Monica loved life and loved people.
Funeral from the Taunton Funeral Home 8 Crapo St., Taunton on Thursday, April 4, at 9 am followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 am in the Annunciation of the Lord Church 31 First St., Taunton. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday in the funeral home from 2-8 pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Taunton.
