Doris P. (Curtin) Hamblin, 81, of Plymouth, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on March 29th. The beloved wife of the late Carlton Hamblin, and mother of the late Betty (Hamblin) Carpenter. She is survived by her children Donna Knowles of Alberta, Canada; Etta Hinckley, Carlton “Sonny” Hamblin Jr, Priscilla Waterman and her companion Dennis Plante, Barbara Snider, John Hamblin and his wife Susan, and Judith Hamblin, all of Plymouth; Mark Hamblin and his wife Angela of FL and Daniel Hamblin of NY.
She also leaves two sisters, Judith Nickerson of Pembroke and Jacqueline Hathaway of FL and a brother Russell Hamblin of Norwell as well as her son-in-law Kenneth Carpenter of Plymouth, 26 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Doris was also the sister of the late Charles Hamblin Jr, Howard Hamblin and Gwendolyn Hodder and the mother-in-law of the late Edward "Buzzy" Hinckley, Donna (Burgess) Hamblin, John Waterman Sr., Sharon Hamblin and John "Rusty" Snider .
Visiting hours will be held at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 373 Court St (Rt 3A), N. Plymouth on Wednesday, April 3rd from 5 to 7 PM. The burial will be held at Vine Hills Cemetery on Monday, April 8th at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Lung Association, 460 Totten Pond Rd. #400, Waltham, MA 02451.
