Claire R. Boisvert, 96, of Manville, died Monday, March 25, 2013 at the Holiday Nursing Home where she had been a resident for the past 6 years. She was the wife of the late Jean R. (Pee Wee) Boisvert.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Anna (Cayer) Gamache. Mrs. Boisvert worked in several department stores in Woonsocket. She retired from the former Nyanza Mills Department Store.
Claire was a longtime communicant of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Parish and enjoyed crossword and word search puzzles.
She is survived by a daughter Doris T. McKenna of Woonsocket, a son Gerard P. Boisvert, and his wife Jeannine, of Alburgh, Vt., a sister Gertrude Suffoletto, two brothers Normand Gamache, and his wife Rachel, and Roland Gamache all of Woonsocket, seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Jeanne Laroche.
Her funeral will be Tuesday April 2, 2013 at 9:00am from the Menard - Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, 1409 Park Av., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours are Monday from 5pm to 8pm.
