CHERRY VALLEY-Mary Jane (Provo) Brockway, 72, of 300 Stafford Street died Thursday, July 29th in St. Vincent Hospital. Her husband Bruce B. Brockway died June 18th. She leaves her son, John C. Woodcock, Jr. and his wife, Gail J. Woodcock of Jewett City, CT, a grandson, Mark and his wife, Suzanna Woodcock, a granddaughter, Jo-Ann, wife of Zachary Flynn, 4 great-grandchildren, 4 brothers, Theodore and David Provo both of Spencer, Bruce Provo of Rochdale and Wayne Provo of Cherry Valley, 2 step-sons, David B. and Jonathan P. Brockway, a step-daughter, Martha J. Brockway, 3 step-grandsons and nephews and nieces.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of Theodore L. and Mernie B. (Patterson) Provo. Mrs. Brockway had been a waitress for many years for numerous area restaurants, retiring last year. She loved her family and time spent at the beach.
The funeral is Monday, August 2nd with a service at 10:00 AM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Sunday, August 1st from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the VNA Hospice Program, 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608.
