Obituary

Pauline Elizabeth Maguire (Catanzariti) of Raynham MA, formerly of Randolph and Dedham MA, March 27, 2013. Her husband of 40 years, Andrew J. Maguire, predeceased her in 1989. She was the loving mother of four children: Paula Chwalek of Wrentham, Andrew Maguire and his wife Marion of Raynham, Robert Maguire of Brockton, and Stephen Maguire and his wife Debbie of Grafton. Her son in law Michael Chwalek predeceased her in 2011. Pauline leaves eight grandchildren: Andrew, Timothy, Kurt, Michael, Brian, Keith, April and John Maguire. She is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren: Dylan, Cailey, Mackenzie, and Madison. Mrs. Maguire is also warmly remembered by her husband’s daughter Jo Andrea (Maguire) and her husband Don Dick Dunham of Frederick OK. She is also grieved by her husband’s grandchildren Joe Don Dunham and his wife Sheri and Clifford Dunham and his wife Nikki and the children of Joe Don and Clifford: Jonelle, Taylor, Harlee, and Maci.
Pauline was born in Dedham MA in April of 1923. The daughter of Vito Catanzariti and Teresina (Scordamaglia), she was predeceased her brothers Dominic and Salvatore and her sisters Rose (DiChiro) and Anna (Speer) . She is survived by one brother, Alfred Catanzariti, of Lewes DE. She grew up at 34 Curve Street in Dedham. She spoke often of her adventures as a young adult in the Boston area during the World War II.She lived in Randolph for over 50 years where she and her husband had raised their family on Hall Street. Over the years Pauline worked as a waitress at several south shore establishments including Howard Johnson’s in Canton, The Hilltop Restaurant and Ronnie’s Deli in Randolph, and D’Ann’s Restaurant in Holbrook. She was a frequent patron and warm admirer of the pizza of Lynwood Café in Randolph and of the pastry at Mike’s in the North End. Her recipe for meatballs and sauce is widely admired and survives her. In 1949 she and her newlywed husband began a 40 year tradition of annual camping vacations to Tamworth NH. They made many lifelong friends and warm memories under the tall pines at White Lake. She was loyal fan of all Boston area sports teams, especially the Red Sox. Over her long years she cheered enthusiastically for Jimmie Foxx, Ted Williams, Bobby Orr, and Curt Schilling among others. She was elated over the events on Yawkey Way in October 2004.Pauline enjoyed a lifelong relationship with the Catholic church. She was a longtime member of Saint Bernadette’s in Randolph and St Anne’s in Raynham. She also enjoyed Bible study at the First Baptist Church of Raynham. She never lost the values she absorbed growing up as daughter of Italian immigrants during the Great Depression. She always remained grateful for what she had and was very compassionate with her friends, her family, and those in need. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington Street in Taunton Tuesday, April 2nd at 9 AM. A Mass will be held at St Ann’s Church in Raynham at 10 AM. Calling hours will be on Monday from 4-7 PM. She will be interred at Central Cemetery in Randolph, with her husband.
