Obituary

Maurice P. Cyr, 92, of Manchester, died March 27, 2013 at Hanover Hill Healthcare Center after a brief illness.
He was born in Manchester on August 5, 1920 to Patrick and Rose (Hebert) Cyr. He was a lifelong resident of Manchester.
During World War II he served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Cyr worked at Bee Bee Shoe Company and American Velcro, both in Manchester, for many years. He was also a shuttle bus driver at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester and a school bus driver in Merrimack for many years.
He was a longtime communicant at St. Pius X Church where he ushered for 50 years.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post 9347, the Knights of Columbus Council 5748 and the League of 1000 Men of the Precious Blood.
The family includes his wife of 66 years, Doris T. (Lambert) Cyr of Manchester; a son, Mark P. Cyr and his wife, Julie, of Manchester; two grandchildren, Krystal Karanikas and Matthew Cyr; a sister, Fleurette Grenon of Manchester and nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at St. Pius X Church, corner of Candia Road and Sarto Street in Manchester. Committal prayers followed at St. Augustin Cemetery, South Beech Street, Manchester.
