CARTER, Hazel Harris, 87, of Chase City, Va., passed away on March 22, 2013. She was born on January 11, 1926 in Mecklenburg County, Va., to the late Lucious and Emma Harris. She is survived by her husband, Harold Carter Sr.; her son, William Randolph "Randy" Carter and his wife, Carolyn, of South Hill, Va.; three daughters, Bonnie Carter Kaplan and her husband, Emil, of Wake Forest, N.C., Mary Etta Dickenson and her husband, Brent, of Chase City, Va., and Leslie Dianne Tyree and her husband, Charlie, of Roanoke, Va.; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Davis of Boydton, Va.; her special friend, Patricia Hamby; and numerous close relatives and loved ones. She was predeceased by her son, Harold Carter Jr. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home.
