Edward L. Cauley, 72, of Derry, NH died Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Parkland Medical Center, Derry surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 22, 1941 in Somerville, MA a son of the late Frank and Gertrude (Connell) Cauley. He grew up and was educated in Somerville, moving to Derry later in life. Edward was a devoted father and grandfather whose family meant the world to him. He was also an avid Boston Red Sox fan.
He is survived by his three daughters, Marybeth Brown of Derry, Patricia Sargent of Worcester, MA, and Eileen Gerace of Marblehead, MA, one son, William Cauley of Barrington, RI, seven grandchildren, two brothers, Joseph Cauley of Somerville, MA and William Cauley of Arlington, MA, as well as many nieces and nephews. Edward was predeceased by his wife of 49 years Maureen P. (Duffy) Cauley on June 1, 2011 as well as his older brother Francis Cauley formerly of Pennsylvania.
Following cremation, a Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 11:00am at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Avenue, Derry. An hour of visitation was held on Tuesday from 9:30- 10:30am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery, East Derry in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Edward’s memory to the Jimmy Fund, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
