Arthur A. Medeiros, 89, of Dartmouth died March 24, 2013 at Sacred Heart Home.
He was the husband of the late Lillian A. (Alves) Medeiros.
Born in Dartmouth, the son of the late Manuel and Jeremina (Almeida) Medeiros, he lived in New Bedford most of his life.
Mr. Medeiros was a former communicant of Sacred Heart Church.
He was formerly employed by J.C. Rhodes for many years until his retirement.
Mr. Medeiros served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He enjoyed bowling and fishing.
Survivors include a son, Arthur E. Medeiros and his wife Lois of Lakeville; a daughter, Janice M. Spooner and her husband Carl of New Bedford; a brother, Ted Medeiros of Dartmouth; a sister, Emmy Tavares of Dartmouth; 3 grandchildren, Amy Furtado and her husband Scott of Freetown, Erin Medeiros and her husband Kyle Griffin of Franklin, MA and Carl Spooner, Jr. of New Bedford; 2 great-grandchildren, Ashley Griffin and Mia Furtado; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Manuel Medeiros, Dorothy Arruda, Lillian Santos, Louis Medeiros and Richard Medeiros.
His private Funeral Service will be held in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
