Worcester—Alice E. (Peterson) Carlson, 88, died Sunday, July 25, 2004, in the Lutheran Home of Worcester after a long struggle with cancer. Her husband of 50 years, John E. Carlson, died in 1987.
She leaves 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Linda C. and Stephen Downer of North Andover, Sally A. and Roger Hoyle of Auburn, and Margie J. and Steven Oliver of Worcester; a sister, Anna Backstrom of Maine; 6 grandchildren, Leah Kozlowski and her husband, Robert; Lauren Dubeau and her husband, Jeffery; Chad Downer and his wife, Susan; Christopher Downer and his wife, Nicole; Megan Oliver; and Molly Oliver; 8 great-grandchildren, Ryan and Erik Kozlowski; Max and Jack Dubeau; Matthew, Emily, Abigail, and Michaela Downer; and several nieces & nephews.She was predeceased by 3 brothers, Roy, William, & Carl Peterson.
She was born in Branford, CT, daughter of Karl and Christina (Erickson) Peterson. As a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker, her church and family were very important to her. Mrs. Carlson was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she volunteered her time with the youth and elderly and also volunteered at the Lutheran Home for many years.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 28, in the Nave of Trinity Lutheran Church, 73 Lancaster Street. Burial will be in the All Faiths Cemetery. Please omit flowers.
