Obituary

Natalie P. (Stanford) Carlson, 78, of Londonderry, NH died Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at The Arbors of Bedford surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 5, 1934 in Somerville, MA a daughter of the late Josiah and Lillian (Drover) Stanford. She grew up in Arlington, MA, graduating from high school in 1952. Natalie worked in Boston until her marriage to Richard Carlson in 1955, followed immediately by a move to California. She returned to MA in 1959 settling in Westford and remained there until the couple retired to Londonderry, NH in 1992. While in MA, she was a medical insurance processor and later a medical office manager. Natalie was active in the Londonderry United Methodist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir. She also enjoyed playing the piano, knitting and crewelwork. Natalie’s family was always the most important thing in her life.
Natalie is survived by her husband of 58 years, Richard Carlson of Londonderry, two sons, Douglas Carlson and his wife Debra of Valrico, FL and Glenn Carlson and his wife Nancy of Fayetteville, WV, one daughter Brenda Demirjian and her husband Arthur of Sandown, NH, nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, her twin sister May Todd of Lowell, MA as well as one niece and two nephews.
There are no calling hours. A celebration of Natalie’s life was held on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 11:00am at the Londonderry United Methodist Church, 258 Mammoth Road, Londonderry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Natalie’s memory to the Londonderry United Methodist Church or to the Sonshine Soup Kitchen – Building Fund, 4 Crystal Avenue, Derry, NH. Natalie’s family is very appreciative of the wonderful care and kindness shown to her by the staff at The Arbors of Bedford.
