New Bedford- Gary E. Sylvia, age 55, died Wednesday, March 20th at The Oaks in New Bedford after a courageous battle with cancer. Gary was the loving father of Katelyn A. Sylvia and her fiancé Brian Coelho of New Bedford. Mr. Sylvia was the grandfather of Jeremy and Justin. He is also survived by his brothers; Michael Sylvia of Dartmouth and Kenneth Sylvia of Ocala, FL; as well as 2 nephews.
Mr. Sylvia was born in New Bedford, son of the late Barbara (Lawrence) and Edwin Sylvia. Gary was the Proprietor of Clarks Cove Fish Market and was a graduate of Dartmouth High School.
Mr. Sylvia’s visiting hours will be Friday, March 22th at Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford from 5-8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited. In lieu of flowers donations to the family would be greatly appreciated. In accordance with his wishes he will be cremated.
