SPENCER: Helen M. (Lapierre) Sauvageau 97, formerly of 28 Clark St., Spencer, died Tuesday, March 19 at Christopher House in Worcester.
She was the wife of Henry W. “Babe” Sauvageau who died in 2005. She leaves three sons Paul H. Sauvageau and his wife Joan of No.Grafton, Pierre G. Sauvageau of Spencer and Philip J. Sauvageau and his wife Mary of Gardner, her daughter Pauline M. Gallant of Worcester, half brother Paul Lapierre of Spencer, half sisters Lorette Pechie, Lorraine Messier, Jeanette Smith and Rhea Gagne all of Spencer, 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her daughter Priscilla A. Burke in 2007 and her grandson Ronald Sauvageau in 1995.
Helen was a librarian at Assumption College in Worcester for 23 years, retiring in 1991.
Born in Spencer, she was the daughter of Edgar and Rose (Bazinet) Sauvageau, and later graduated from David Prouty High School in Spencer. She was a former member of St. Mary’s Church in Spencer and most recently a member of Our Lady of the Angels Parish in Worcester.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, March 23 from the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a Funeral Mass at 10 am. In Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. Calling hours are Friday, from 4 to 7p.m. in the funeral home.
