Michael V. Barr, 83, died March 8, 2013, in Palm City, FL. He was born in Boston and was a resident of Palm City for 28 years, coming from Duxbury, Mass. Before retirement, he worked as a general contractor under the name of Michael V. Barr Inc. He served as president of the Marshfield Country Club from 1980 to 1982. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Frances Barr of Palm City, FL; daughters, Sharon MacAllister of Duxbury, Mass., and Michele Canan of North Reading, Mass.; sister, Anna Scollay of Hobe Sound; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Josephine Canney.
Visiting hours will be held in the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St., Rte. 139 in Marshfield on Saturday, March 23, 2013 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with a service at 12:30 p.m.
