Margie Davis, 84, of Ocilla, died Sunday, March 17, 2013, at the Irwin County Hospital.
Graveside services will be held 11 AM, Tuesday, March 19, 2013, in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Irwin County, with Elder Mickey Harris officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Monday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Davis was born June 20, 1928 in Boaz, Alabama to the late Henry B. and Fannie West Kelly. She formerly worked in the dietary department for a nursing home in Northport, Alabama as well as working in the kitchen at Shiloh Personal Care Home in Ocilla. She had lived in Irwin County for the past 32 years and was a member of Old Valley Grove Primitive Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters: Peggy (Woody) Woods of Irwin County and Mary Helen Lee of Ocilla; a son: James Lee (Vicki) Powell of Crossville, Tennessee; a step-son: Lee (Vicki) Powell of Clewiston, Florida; several grandchildren including: Teresa Anderson, Cynthia Rene Lee, Jonathan Harold Holloway, Brian Powell, and Steven Jacob Powell; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Virgil “Buck” Davis, a grandson: Mark Edward Joslyn; and 14 brothers and sisters.
