TAUNTON - Dorothea (Duffy) Bergin, wife of the late George Bergin, died at Morton Hospital & Medical Center on March 14, 2013.
She was 94.
Born in Holbrook, she was the daughter of the late John L. and Viola (Croteau) Duffy.
Educated in the Norwood school system, she graduated from Norwood High School in 1937, and later the Gillis Business School.
She moved to the Taunton area many years ago.
A retired office worker, Mrs. Bergin was a member of the Oakland Seniors and the VFW Senior Veterans.
She was a communicant of St. Andrew the Apostle Church.
Survivors include two sons, Paul D. Bergin of Milton, and J. Lawrence Bergin and his wife Mary of Winona, Minnesota; four grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew, Claire and Kristin Bergin; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late John, Charles, Theodore, and William Duffy, Mary “Vi” Lee, Winifred Bonney, Miriam Murphy, Rosabelle Howell, John Howard, Helene Hill and Richard Howard.
Mrs. Bergin’s family will receive visitors at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Thursday, March 21st from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. to be followed by a funeral mass at St. Andrew the Apostle Church at 10:00 a.m.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Interment will be private at the MA National VA Cemetery in Bourne.
