CHRISTINE E. (MURPHY) BOGART, a twenty-five year resident of Quincy, died on Friday, July 23rd at the Quincy Medical Center. She was 78. Born in North Tarrytown, New York, she was raised and educated in Newton Centre and was a graduate of Regis College in Wellesley. She was a librarian and teacher by profession and taught at various times in her career in Massachusetts, Vermont and Florida. In addition to Newton, Ms Bogart also lived in St. Petersburg, FL. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Hingham and was a published poet.Wife of the late Jackson H. Bogart, Jr., she leaves her daughter, Karen J. Howard of Quincy; and son, Jackson H. Bogart, III. Grandmother of Rich and Kelly Howard and Beau and Sean Bogart. Great grandmother of John Smalley, Nicole Howard, Katrina and Joseph McCrevan. Step-grandmother of Rosemary and Matthew Simmons and Alex and Krista Vick. Step-great grandmother of Devon Vick. She was also the sister of the late Joseph L. Murphy, Jr.A Funeral Service will be conducted on Thursday, July 29th at 11 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 379 Gardner St., Hingham.Friends may visit at the church on Thursday, prior to the service from 9-10:30 AM.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the charity of one's choice.
