
Joseph Chupka 93 of North Smithfield Rhode Island died February 25 in St. Antoine Residence in North Smithfield. He was the husband of Emma (Ristaino)
Chupka.
Born in Douglas, Massachusetts, March 10,1919, the son of the late William and Mary (Krous) Chupka, Mr. Chupka was raised in East Douglas and had lived in Cleveland , Ohio , Keene New Hampshire and Cumberland, Rhode Island and Baltimore ,Maryland prior to moving to Saint Antoine’s.
He had worked for the W.J. Dickey & Son Company and had previously worked for the Haywood Shuster textile mill. After retirement he worked as a consultant in the textile industry and travelled to various locations trouble shooting problems for mills in the area.
Mr. Chupka served in the Army during World War II attaining the rank of Tec 3 and was awarded 2 Bronze Service Stars.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his son William Chupka and his wife Deborah of Baltimore, Maryland.
He was the father of the late Carol Moynihan Lockett.
He is also survived by his granddaughter Nicole Chupka and grandfather of the late William J. Chupka, Jr.
Services will be held in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginelyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street Franklin on Saturday March 23 at Noon.
Burial will be in St Mary’s Cemetery, Franklin.
Visitation will be on Saturday from 11:00-Noon in the funeral home.
