Obituary

Bellingham—Ralph H. Mendall, Sr. 85 of Bellingham, died Thursday March 14, 2013 at his home following an illness. He was the husband of the late Dorothy E. (Watkins) Mendall, who died in 2001.
Born October 26, 1927 in Boston, a son of the late Lewis R. Mendall, Sr and Ruth I. (Glines) Mendall , he was a resident of Bellingham for over 30 years, and was a former resident of Franklin.
He was raised and educated in Dedham, and until his retirement, he worked as the night plant engineer for Data General Corporation. He also was an electrical lineman for many years.
A true patriot, he loved and served his country honorably during World War 11 in the United States Coast Guard, before being transferred to the Merchant Marines, he was honorably discharged in August 1945.
He was a member of The Improved Order of Redman Wonowok Tribe #83 Franklin; he was an avid hunter, and fisherman. He was a very proud man who treasured his family, friends, and an honest day’s work.
Ralph is survived by his children; Marlane Mendall-Gromelski of Franklin, Steven Mendall of Woonsocket, Renee Circone of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl., Denise Landry of Concord, Doreen Contrastano of East Dennis, Elaine Mendall-Swindells of Franklin, Bonnie Pickering of Attleboro, Lewis Mendall of Wrentham, Ralph Mendall, Jr. of Milford, Carl Mendall of Bellingham, Jason Mendall of Woonsocket, Jonathon Mendall Norfolk, and Jamison Mendall of Uxbridge, and 2 sisters Barbara Mendall-Hutchins of Rhode Island & Nancy Mendall-Johnson of Arizona.
He was the brother of the late Lewis R. Mendall, Jr.,Ruth I. Mendall-Young, Neita R. Mendall-DeMotte and the brother in law of the late Bob Johnson and Gene Hutchins
Also surviving are 26 grandchildren 18 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service Tuesday Mar. 19th, at 10AM in the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin, www.oterifuneralhome.com. His interment will be held privately.
Calling hours are Monday from 2-4 & 6-8PM.
