Helen M. (Shannon) Moore, 88, of Worcester died Friday, March 15th in the Saint Francis Home. Her husband of 66 years, Richard O. Moore, Sr. died in 2011. She leaves four sons, Richard O. Moore, Jr, Michael Moore and his wife, Mary Ellen and Daniel Moore all of Worcester and Thomas Moore and his wife, Kathy of Austin, TX; four daughters, Paula Dorn, Jayne Arsenault and Martha Senosk and her husband, Troy all of Worcester; two sisters, Harriett Flynn of Worcester and Mary Sullivan and her husband, Bud of Leicester; 15 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Catherine Moore; three brothers, Paul, James and Robert and a sister, Jane.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of James E. and Maud C. (Langley) Shannon. Helen graduated from the former high school of Commerce and was a member of St. Paul’s Cathedral. She was an avid square dancer and enjoyed dancing with her husband and the triple c squares in Worcester. She enjoyed camping, traveling and listening to Daniel O’Donnell. Helen loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially her grandson, Patrick.
Her funeral is Monday, March 18th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 11:30 AM in St. Paul’s Cathedral, 38 High Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday, March 17th from 2:00 until 5:00 PM in the funeral home.
