Robert D. Monastesse, 86, of Derry, NH died Thursday, March 14, 2013 at the Parkland Medical Center in Derry. He was born on April 22, 1926 in Haverhill, MA a son of the late Theodore and Yvonne (St. Jean) Monastesse. He was a resident of Derry for 52 years, formerly living in Methuen, MA. Mr. Monastesse was employed as an engineer for Raytheon in Andover, MA for over 40 years. He enjoyed wood carving and skin diving. Mr. Monastesse was very handy and liked to work on and around his house. He was a communicant of Holy Cross Church in Derry.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores “Dee” Monastesse of Derry, one son, Philip Monastesse and his wife Sheri of Warner, NH, one daughter, Marthe Bemis and her husband Peter, of Southborough, MA, four grandchildren, John Monastesse of Davis, CA, Zachary Bemis, Micaela Bemis and Tyler Bemis all of Southborough, MA.
There are no calling hours. A Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, March 18th at 10:00am in Holy Cross Church, 187 Hampstead Road, Derry. Burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery, East Derry. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry is handling the arrangements.
