Richard J. Cedor, 74, of Harmony, died Sunday, March 10, 2013 surrounded by his family at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. He was the loving husband of Jean R. (Carcone) Cedor for 51 years.
One of ten children, born in Providence he was a son of the late Peter J. and Marion G. (Curran) Cedor. He lived in Harmony since 1966.
He was an Army veteran, having served in Korea. He was a pressman for the former Providence Gravure Company and was the Chief Clerk for Providence Bristol County Superior Court.
He was a Glocester Little League Coach with the Three A’s, a Board member of the Harmony Library, and a past Treasurer and member of the Laurel Grange.
He was a Past President and a former member of the Glocester Town Council and a Past President and member of The Providence Newspaper Printing Pressman's Union No. 12. He also was a communicant of St. Philip Church.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children: Lynn R. McCarthy and her husband, John, of Attleboro, MA; Richard J. Cedor, Jr. and his wife, Kelly, of North Kingstown, RI; Melissa J. Kaplan and her husband, Jonathan, of Cumberland, RI; Matthew E. Cedor and his wife, Cynthia, of Cumberland, RI; his six grandchildren, Aidan McCarthy, Alayna and Julia Kaplan, Hailey, Jacob and David Cedor; his sister, Frances Ramos; his faithful dog, Sammy; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Mary Morrissey, Olive Burr, Theresa Perrotta, Virginia Truppi, Kathlyn Coletti, Barbara Beauregard and Raymond and Peter Cedor.
A Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Thursday at 11am at St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Avenue, Greenville. Burial will be private.
Visitation to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Wednesday 4-8pm at the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville.
