Obituary

FRAMINGHAM, MA: Steven Turner MacDowell, 52, died unexpectedly on March 7, 2013 at the Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham following a brief illness
He was born in Boston on November 14, 1960 the son of Kenneth Martin MacDowell and Barbara Jane (Stonemetz) MacDowell both of Wayland.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his son Colin A. MacDowell of Northampton. He was the fiancé of Kathleen M. Maxwell of Framingham. He is also survived by his sister Sally M. Spagnuolo and her husband David of Wayland and their four children.
Steven has resided in Framingham for the past four years and previously resided in Brighton. He spent his formative years in Wayland and graduated from Wayland High School with the Class of 1979. He attended Nathaniel Hawthorne College. For the past four years he has been an employment specialist for SMOC in Framingham and previously was associated with Riverside Community Care in Dedham.
Steven was a terrific dad and he and Colin enjoyed many hours together reading some of Colin’s favorite books. He was an accomplished and talented carpenter and enjoyed many building projects. He also was an expert target shooter. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A Memorial gathering celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2013 from 2:00 – 5:00pm at the home of Pamela and Jeffrey PinterParsons at 45 Briarcliff Lane in Holliston.
In lieu of flowers, his family suggests memorial gifts in Steven’s memory may be sent to the Appalachian Mountain Club, 5 Joy Street, Boston, MA 02108.
