Patricia M. Chicklowski, age 82, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2013 at the Heritage Hall South Nursing Home. She was born on November 6, 1930 in New London, CT to the late Charles A. Newman, Sr. and Mary (Gant) Newman. Due to her father's naval career, Patricia was raised primarily in the South before settling in Massachusetts. She attended Junior College and graduated with an Associate's Degree. Patricia was a homemaker and worked for over 40 years as a hairdresser before retiring and owned and operated many hair salons over the years including Magic Mirror and The Hair Stop. Patricia loved to travel and was blessed to have traveled to many different locations including her most beloved trip to Ireland. She was a life long communicant of the former Our Lady of Hope Parish. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband of 55 years Joseph Anthony Chicklowski who passed away in 2006, her brother, Charles A. Newman, Jr. who passed away in 2010 and a granddaughter, Kelly. Patricia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She leaves four sons Anthony “Chuck” Chicklowski and his wife Georgia, Mark Chicklowski, Kevin Chicklowski and his wife Nancy all of Springfield and A. Robert Chicklowski and his wife Ernesta of Tampa, FL; one daughter, Ellen Briggs and her husband Joseph of Springfield; her grandchildren, Tricia and her husband Darren, Joseph Anthony II, Christina and her husband Teddy, Michael, Andrew, Cayla, Tristan and Danielle and two great grandchildren. The family would like to thank her caregivers, her son, Mark, her granddaughter, Christina and Jerri for all their love, support, and care they gave Patricia throughout the years. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday March 12, 2013 at 9:45 AM from the Grise Funeral Home 280 Springfield Street, Chicopee with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Holy Name Parish in Springfield. Burial will follow in the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. Calling Hours will be held on Monday March 11, 2013 from 4 to 7 PM at the funeral home.
