Obituary

Homer Allen Crumpton, 82, of Tifton died Sunday, March 10, 2013, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. John Townsend will officiate with burial to follow in Spring Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Lenox. Mr. Crumpton’s grandsons, Chris Youngblood, Craig Youngblood, Joey Hutto, Benjie Walker and Jason Walker, as well as James Montgomery, will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Mr. Crumpton was born on May 7, 1930 in Tift County and was the son of Joseph Malley Crumpton and Maude Emily Lott Crumpton, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and eight sisters. He was a retired construction worker with Holley Steel. He was a veteran of the United States Army and of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Crumpton is survived by his wife, Lucille Walker Crumpton of Tifton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Janey and Mike Walker of Ashburn and Genny Nutt and Carlos Truelove of Tifton; one sister, Myrtle Dorough of Adel; five grandchildren and their spouses, Chris and Kelly Youngblood, Craig Youngblood, Joey Hutto, Jason and Tia Walker and Benjie Walker; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
