Anne V. (Auger) Bouchard, 88, of New Bedford died March 8, 2013 at Sacred Heart Home after a very long battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
She was the wife of the late Ernest R. Bouchard with whom she shared 50 years of marriage.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Damase and Ida (Poneau) Auger, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
Mrs. Bouchard was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church in New Bedford, and former communicant of Sacred Heart Church. She was a member of the Society of St. Anne's.
She was formerly employed as a housekeeper at Sacred Heart Home for 25 years until her retirement.
Mémère, as she was known to all her family, was a loving mother and grandmother like no other. She was like a second mother to her grandchildren and was always there for them. In her younger days, she enjoyed playing bingo and shopping with her grandchildren.
Her fight and strength until her final days was an inspiration to all her family.
Survivors include 4 loving sons, her loving son Leo Bouchard, who has cared for his mother for the past 7 years, and his wife Pamela, Roger Bouchard and his wife Joyce, Joseph Bouchard and his wife Suzanne and Normand Bouchard and his wife Nancy, all of New Bedford; her loving daughter, Pauline McAlister and her husband Keith of New Bedford; a sister, Rita Marshall of New Bedford; 10 grandchildren, Christy, Michael, Philip, Jason, Jennifer, Kaitlyn, Nicole, Craig, Lauren and Kristen; 5 great-grandchildren, Gilly, Mason, Cole and twin girls to be expected in June; a great-great-grandchild, Issac and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Tuesday, March 12th at 9 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Anthony of Padua Church at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Monday, March 11th from 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Community Nurse and Hospice Care, P.O.
