Robert J. "Bob" Pelham, a 39 year resident of Melrose and former resident of Malden, entered into eternal life on Friday, March 8, 2013 at his home in Melrose following an extended illness. He was 73 years old.
Bob was born in Boston on March 4, 1940, a son of the late Ernest Pelham and Mary (Burke) Pelham. He grew up in Somerville and attended Somerville Public Schools, he graduated from Somerville High School in 1958 where he was state champion in the high hurdle competition of track and field and held the state record for many years. Bob worked as a Property Manager for Kinvara Realty in Allston for over 40 years. He was a longtime member of the Allston Board of Trade and member of the North Shore Irish Association. Bob enjoyed working with his hands and was an accomplished caftsman, painter, baker and could fix anything and everything. He enjoyed dancing and was a longtime usher at the 9 A.M. Sunday Mass at Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Wakefield.
Bob is the beloved husband of 41 years to Teresa (Connors) Pelham. He is the devoted father of Robert J. Pelham Jr. and his wife Becket Feierbach of California and Maura M. Pelham and her husband Curtis B. Dooling of Melrose. He is the loving Papa to Darcy and Jodie Pelham and Nora Dooling. He is the beloved brother of Gail Geissler of Weymouth, Linda Brietzke of Malden, Ernest Pelham of Somerville and the late James Pelham. He is the loving uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Bob's Funeral on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 1159 Main St. Melrose followed by his Funeral Mass in The Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St. Wakefield at 10 A.M. Interment at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Stoneham. Visiting hours will be on Monday, March 11, 2013 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
