Obituary

Norman L. Dussault, 87, of New Bedford died July 23, 2004, at home after a brief illness.

He was the husband of Lucille T. (Boutin) Dussault, and the son of the late Benjamin and Almanda (Ruest) Dussault.

Mr. Dussault was born in New Bedford and had lived in New Bedford all of his life.

He was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church in North Dartmouth.

Mr. Dussault was formerly employed at M.C.I.-Bridgewater as a Corrections Officer untilhis retirement.

During World War II, Mr. Dussault served in the U.S. Army , participating in the battles and campaigns of Normandy, Northern France, the Rhineland and Central Europe. He was the recipient of the American Theater Campaign ribbon, the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Campaign ribbon, the Bronze Star and the World War II Victory medal.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Freetown Memorial Post 6643, the American Portuguese War Veterans, and the P.P.W.V. Senior Citizens.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Richard N. Dussault, and his wife Carol, of Fairhaven; a daughter Jeanne N. Bernard, and her husband Richard, of New Bedford; a brother, Roma Dussault, and his wife Pauline, of New Bedford; a sister Claire Constantine of East Freetown; 4 grandchildren, David Bernard, Suzanne Bernard, Matthew Dussault and Nicole Dussault; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New BedfordMonday, July 26th at 10 AM.Funeral Mass at St. Julie Billiart Church at 11 AM.Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Visiting hours will be on Sunday, July 25th from 4-8 PM.

Interment Sacred Heart Cemetery.
