Doris Clement Dwyer, 87, of Chester, NH died Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Parkland Medical Center, Derry surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 19, 1926 in East Kingston, NH, one of nine children of Oscar and Nina (Giles) Bowley. For nearly 50 years, Doris was an antiques dealer, specializing in Flow Blue. She and her first husband George with Harold Chase and his first wife started the Hayloft Square Dancing Barn, which later became the Hayloft Barn Antiques. She enjoyed auctions, antique shows, and researching the history of antiques. Ms. Dwyer also enjoyed reading and travelling the East Coast to attend all the big antique shows. Doris was a member of the Journey Church in Derry and enjoyed attending church suppers.
She is survived by her husband, Harold B. Chase of Chester, three sons, Gary Clement of Manchester, Kenneth Clement of Auburn, and Dana Clement of Manchester, six grandchildren, Eric Clement, Nicole Jones, Jason Clement, Jeffrey Clement, Richard Clement, and Monica Tafelski, 13 great grandchildren, one sister, Lorraine Bowley of Chester, one brother, Leonard Bowley of Reading, MA, many nieces and nephews, and her special friend and caregiver, Kathy Luther. Doris was also survived by her beloved dog Diamond. She was predeceased by three husbands, George Clement, William Magee, and Daniel Dwyer, her only daughter, Karen Clement, and six siblings, Margie Young, Eleanor Latham, Ralph, Roland, Donald, and Elsie Bowley.
Calling hours were held on Friday, March 8, 2013 from 5 – 8pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 9th at 1:00pm in the funeral home. Burial will be in Great Hill Cemetery in Chester in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Chester Fire Association, 27 Murphy Drive, Chester, NH 03036.
