Obituary

Reverend Richard B. Brown III, 82, of Medway died March 5 at Riverbend of South Natick. He was the husband of Marilyn (Leggee) Brown.
Born in Arlington, Massachusetts, September 19, 1930, the son of the late Richard B. Brown II and Harriette (Hunneman) Brown, he grew up in Braintree, Massachusetts, moved to Bedford, Massachusetts, and has lived in Medway for the past 32 years.
He was a graduate of Northeastern University, class of 1957, with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked ay Sylvania and then GTE Sylvania for 30 years.
He graduated from Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge in 1989 with a Master of Divinity degree and was ordained to the priesthood in the Episcopal Church, Diocese of Massachusetts in 1990. He served St. Mark's Church in Riverside, Rhode Island for 3 years and St. Martin’s in New Bedford for 8 years. As a retired Episcopal Priest he did supply ministry in many Episcopal churches in the Medway area.
His interest was varied from bee keeping to gardening, canoeing and fishing. He even took up scuba diving as a young man.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Russell Brown and his wife Becky of Denham Springs, Louisiana, Carl Brown and his wife Kelly of Jackson, Wyoming, Kathryn Brown of Medway and Teresa Proctor and her husband Michael of Medway.
He is also survived by two step-daughters Jeanne Coffey and her husband of Brendan of Newburyport and Kate Ducey and her husband Mark of South Berwick, Maine.
He is also survived by his sister Amy Davidson-Moore of Braintree and his nephew Andrew Davidson of Alton, New Hampshire.
His greatest joy and delight in retirement were in his 8 grandchildren, Travis and Lucas Brown, Douglas and Thomas Proctor, Carter and Eva Ducey and Lila and Phoebe Coffey and step-grandchildren, Madison, Mason and Marlie Blankenship.
His funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 9 in Christ Episcopal Church School Street in Medway at 11:00.
Calling hours will be on Friday from 4-8 p.m. in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 3 Barber Street in Medway.
